July is sixteen events over eleven days, and the Fourth carries two of them. The Freedom 5k and Kids Fun Run starts at the Cape Coral Bridge at 7am, and at 2pm the city raises the flag at Bernice Braden Park to mark the completion of a community funded effort to build what it describes as the tallest free standing American flagpole in Florida.
After the Fourth the month takes the shape August has: early starts, indoor afternoons, and a steady programme at Rotary Park and the Art Center rather than large ticketed events. The bird walk on the 18th goes at 8am, the preserve hike on the 15th at 9am, the native plant sale on the 25th at 9am.
One oddity worth flagging. The Community Art Initiative ran on two consecutive evenings, the 28th and 29th, at the Dental Medicine Center of Cape Coral. It is the only thing in the month at that venue, and the only art event in the archive held in a dental practice.

Summer starts early here. Same rule as August: the outdoor events are morning events. Afternoon thunderstorms are the Cape Coral summer norm rather than the exception, and the calendar is built around that.
